Welcome Back to School!

  • Dear JWB Families,

    Welcome Back!

I hope you enjoyed a wonderful summer. I also hope you are relaxed, recharged and ready to for the 2019-20 school year. I would like to welcome our new families to this new school year.  We are so delighted to have you as a part of our amazing JWB community.

All signs point to another wonderful and productive school year full of great opportunities for your students. Our skilled and devoted staff is ready to greet your children on September 3rd.  They have been working hard, planning and preparing for your child(ren). Our enthusiastic office team has been busy registering many new families, and making sure that everything is ready for the start of the new school year.  Our hard working and conscientious custodians have spent the entire summer thoroughly cleaning the school.  In addition, they have assembled new classroom furniture for 11 of our classes in grade 1 to grade 7.  It really has been a busy time at JWB.

    Student Placement

A great deal of time, effort and thought has gone into the process of student placement for the 2019-2020 school year.

Careful consideration was given to input from staff and families as well as student learning styles. Classrooms have been balanced academically and socially.   Moving students is difficult without causing imbalances and inequities.

Thank you so much for being positive with your child about their new class placement.   All of our staff works hard to make school a positive experience for all students.  JWB is eagerly looking forward to continuing to enrich your child’s life. Thank you for understanding that it can take a few weeks for a child to become comfortable with a new grade, peer group and teacher.

Thank you to all who are helping prepare for the new school year. Your commitment to insuring that JWB is a great place to learn and to grow is awe-inspiring. I eagerly look forward to greeting students and families again. It remains an honour and a privilege to serve as your principal.

A reminder that dogs are not allowed on the playground during school hours (9 a.m. - 3:55 p.m.). If you are walking your dog to/from school with your child(ren), please ensure that parents are holding onto them on a secure leash.

We appreciate your help with this matter as we continue to ensure the safety of our students.
